Through the years, certain myths have developed about incontinence. These untruths often prevent people from seeking help for their bladder control problems and, because of this, many people have suffered in silence.
Myth: Incontinence is an uncommon problem
Fact: It is a very common problem.
Myth: It is a simple condition
Fact: It is not simple. There are many different causes and many different treatments.
Myth: There is no treatment or help
Urinary incontinence is sometimes curable, often able to be diminished and can always be managed.
Myth: Incontinence is a natural part of aging
Getting older on its own does not cause bladder and bowel problems.
