Numerologys Elements; Chinese Vs. Western; Another Path To Personal Power |
Just as Western Occult tradition has their elements; Chinese astrology does as well. And, just as carrying the classical elements on our person can enhance our power; we can use the Chinese elements in the same way. See which tradition best suits your needs.
===> Western Traditions Elements
In Western Occult tradition, there are four elements: Earth, Air, Fire and Water. These four elements are associated with the compass points, and with the four suits of the Tarot deck; Earth with pentacles, Air with Swords, Fire with wands, and Water with Cups. Their number vibrations, and qualities are as shown below:
Earth (Numbers: 4, 6, and 8) is associated with stability and Willpower. This is also element of money and prosperity.
Air (Numbers: 5 and 6) is associated with thought and creativity. This is the element of decisive action; hence the relationship with swords.
Fire (Numbers: 1, 3, and 9) is associated with Transformation and change. Fire is the catalyst which cooks food, burns wood, and lights the world.
Water (Numbers: 2 and 7) is associated with communication and quick action. Water can enter through the smallest of cracks. It is the medium of transportation of the ancient world.
===> Eastern Tradition Elements
In the tradition of Chinese astrology, there are (5) elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. The number vibration and qualities of these elements is as listed below:
Wood (Numbers: 3 and 4) is associated with creativity. This element is also called "Tree" and represents growth and living things.
Fire (Number: 9) is associated with enthusiasm and motivation. This element also reveals truth in situations, bringing things to the light.
Earth (Numbers: 2, 5, and 8) is associated with stability and reaching your goals. This is the element of determination.
Metal (Numbers: 6 and 7) is associated with valor and riches. This element also empowers you to stand up for what you believe.
Water (Number: 1) is associated with communication and breaking down boundaries. This is the element that wears away old stumbling blocks, and makes the way smooth for new things.
===> Curing with Elements
In either tradition, numerology holds that by surrounding yourself with things that are associated with an element, you can add that elements vibrations to your birth chart, effectively curing that missing number in your chart.
Numerology's birth chart is built using a (3) by (3) square; with the positions numbered from bottom to top, and left to right. A square showing the positions for each digit is shown below:
( 3 )( 6 )( 9 )
( 2 )( 5 )( 8 )
( 1 )( 4 )( 7 )
To chart a person's birth chart, take each digit in their birth date, and place it in the appropriate square on the chart.
For an example, actor Johnny Depp was born June 9th, 1963; so his birth chart looks like this:
( 3 )( 66 )( 99 )
( _ )( __ )( __ )
( 1 )( __ )( __ )
The trick here is to select an element which helps complete your chart, creating more completed lines, or eliminating missing lines in your chart. In the example above, adding the Chinese element of earth by carrying a quartz crystal on his person would completely fill a missing line on Johnny Depp's birth chart. That's what I'd have him do.
And, to tell my inner self that I wished to use Chinese Astrology elements, I would pick a symbol that was specifically associated with Chinese symbols; perhaps my birth year animal.
