Why Its Important To Know How To Organize |
I had to undergo a long and involved struggle before I was able to learn how to organize. My un-tidiness was a real embarrassment when I was growing up. Cleanliness is really viewed as being next to godliness in my community. Knowing how to get organized is almost second nature to the people in my hometown.
The problem was that my family was different when it comes to being organized. Every member of my family doesn’t have any clue about how to organize. We purchased a lot of filing cabinets, closet organizers, storage boxes of all shape, size, and description but none of it did any good.
I had no major problems with fitting in perfectly in these family surroundings, but something happened that changed my life. This is because I had to go to college and I had to give an important presentation. I was scrambling around to get all the pieces together because it was given at the last minute.
However, I did not have enough time to finish it because my paper was all out of order and I was missing half of my slides. As a result, I failed and I should not have. I had done all the work, and prepared a brilliant presentation but I never got credit for the work that I had done because I did not know how to organize.
I investigated all of the usual tricks when I first tried to learn how to organize. I decided to purchase books on organizing a home, organizing an office, organizing a business, and organizing any other aspect of personal or professional life that can possibly be imagined.
However, I still got no results at all even after I read all of these books from cover to cover. I think that I sort of shutdown because my mind was so cluttered with ideas about how to organize, and with frustrated attempts at getting my life under control. I just can’t handle that much information quickly.
Fortunately, my friend who is very good at organizing gave me a wonderful advice. He told me that I have to get rid of some of my stuff if I want to be organized. He explained that having things that I need and knowing where each of these things is when I need it is the key to being organized. My friend even came over and helped me sort through my stuff so that he can show me how to organize my stuff.
